Eligibility

Residents in Tax Credit apartments must be 55 or older and have incomes below $31,740. Section 8 Portable Vouchers are welcome. Residents in HUD subsidized apartments must be 62 or older. Applicants with incomes below $25,850 annual household income (for one person) qualify for Section 8 Project Based rental assistance. This assistance would allow the resident to make rental payments based on 30% of their income.

Grand Way Commons, located on Farrell Street, offers 63 one-and two-bedroom apartments on the upper three floors of the building. The first floor houses the main offices of Cathedral Square Corporation, HomeShare Vermont, United Way of Chittenden County, a VNA Adult Day Program and a commercial kitchen and dining area. Located just off Shelburne Road, several shopping centers including supermarkets, pharmacies and a craft store are within walking distance. Two health clubs are also located nearby. Grand Way Commons opened in 2007. Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties Adult Day Program: The on-site VNA Adult Day Program is offered for residents and community seniors in need of daytime oversight. Adult Day is a place for seniors with physical or mental limitations to spend the day in a supervised setting away from home. Adult Day offers daily structured programs with social and recreational activities, a hot lunch and health related and rehabilitation services in a stimulating, carefully supervised environment that is structured to meet the unique needs of older adults.
