Supervisor of Custodial Services

Summary: The Supervisor of Custodial Services will plan, organize and coordinate the activities related to the cleaning, care and maintenance of floors, restrooms, offices and common area for all CSC properties.  He/she also supervises the Homemaker Service Providers.  The Supervisor collaborates with the Director of Maintenance and Supervisor of Maintenance regarding site needs in order to maintain quality housing for residents.

Qualifications

Must possess a high school diploma and at least two to three years of progressively responsible custodial work experience.  Must possess a valid Vermont driver’s license, dependable vehicle and clean driving record.  He/she must be able to travel to property sites.  Prior supervisory experience and computer skills in outlook and excel preferred.

Manager of Food Service

The Manager of Food Service has full managerial responsibility of the food service programs with a commitment of cooking healthy, locally-sourced, fresh food for our residents.  The manager will work collaboratively with staff and directors in a team oriented and professional manner.  Must be able to accommodate different dietary restrictions/needs while meeting budgetary requirements and applicable regulations.  The manager is responsible for supervision of staff, menu planning, ordering of food, maintains inventory, food preparation and serving activities.

Qualifications

Must possess an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts or Hotel & Restaurant Management or equivalent background and experience.  At least five years of previous supervisory and cooking experience in commercial food service is required.  Knowledge of OSHA regulations is essential.  Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and a great leadership ability is key. Flexibility in working schedule and weekend/holiday availability is a must.

SASH Coordinator

The primary function of the Support and Services at Home (SASH) Coordinator is to build trusting relationships with participants in SASH in order to develop a thorough knowledge of each SASH participant’s strengths and challenges as they pertain to remaining safely in his or her home.  The SASH Coordinator (SC) convenes the on-site SASH team on a regular basis to coordinate care and services to meet the needs of SASH participants.  The SC identifies and proactively responds to the underlying causes of any resident or community problems and/or issues and involves his/her Supervisor as needed. The SC organizes and facilitates resident meetings on a monthly basis and serves as key on-site contact for issues relating to housekeeping, noise, site disturbances, etc.  The SC issues lease violations and warning to residents and works with his/her supervisor on enforcement of the lease and resident handbook.

Qualifications

Must possess a Bachelors Degree in Social Work or equivalent combination of background and experience.  Previous experience coordinating services specifically for the senior or adult with disability client population is preferred.  Knowledge of area resources and programs available to seniors and adults with disabilities, including transportation, health services, and recreational activities is essential.  Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication is required. Must have knowledge of and an appreciation for the heritage, values, and wisdom of each resident and a commitment to the philosophy of a person’s choice to age at home.  Must possess a valid driver’s license.  A working knowledge of MSWord and Publisher is highly desirable.

SASH Wellness Nurse

The Wellness Nurse is responsible for provision and/or oversight of wellness care and coaching for SASH participants in accordance with Vermont’s Nurse Practice Act.  S/he is responsible for overseeing the well-being of participants and in coordinating health services with other members of the SASH Team and other community providers.  S/he supports a philosophy of aging in place consistent with the mission of SASH. The Wellness Nurse will also work with the SASH Team on developing individual participant Healthy Living Plans as well as Community Healthy Living Plans.

Qualifications

The Wellness Nurse must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Vermont.  Must possess at least two years of experience in a clinical setting, committed to an aging in place philosophy.  He/she must have demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment.  He/she must have knowledge of standard record keeping procedures (i.e. progress notes, HIPPA guidelines).  Must be able to work independently and part of a team, and possess strong organizational and time management skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Custodian

Looking for a person who is self-motivated, has attention to detail, positive attitude, reliable, and good communication skills.

The Custodian will perform a variety of cleaning duties including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, buffing and waxing floors. The custodial role would be focused on cleaning general common areas. Good people skills are required.

LPN/RN

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) provides care and services to residents who are functionally, physically or socially impaired at our assisted-living residence in downtown Burlington, under the direction of the LPN supervisor. They provide nurse duties within their scope of license, including assessment, treatment, and medication management and administration. The LPN/RN provides on-call clinical consultation to staff as needed and supports a philosophy of aging in place consistent with the mission of Cathedral Square and in compliance with State of Vermont Level III Assisted Living/Residential Care Home regulations.

Qualifications

  • Current Vermont LPN or RN license
  • Ability to think, act and intervene appropriately in both routine and emergency situations

Maintenance Technicians

Maintenance Technicians are responsible for a full range of property-maintenance duties, including painting, heating and ventilation troubleshooting and repair, responding to work orders, minor plumbing and electrical work, snow shoveling, and landscaping. Daily assignments vary depending on the site and the availability of other maintenance staff. Will have on-call duties for maintenance emergencies on a rotating basis.
