Summary: The cook prepares and serves meals in a friendly, professional manner to Cathedral Square Senior Living residents.  The Cook’s responsibilities involve all facets of kitchen operations including ordering, preparing, serving, cleaning, receiving, inspecting and rejecting orders, and the monitoring of all kitchen equipment.  The Cook is required to have on-call duties to cover for the Manager of Food Service.

Qualifications:  Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent.  Must be able to read and follow instructions, recipes and resident information as well as perform basic math.    Flexibility in working schedule and weekend/ holiday availability is necessary.  Must possess good interpersonal communication skills and be able to relate to a wide variety of people.  Prior experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities is preferred.  Prior cooking experience is preferred. Maintenance Technician

Summary:  Responsible for a full range of property maintenance duties including painting, heating and ventilation troubleshooting and repair, responding to work orders, minor plumbing and electrical work, snow shoveling, and landscaping. Daily assignments will vary due to the site and availability of other maintenance staff.  He/she will also be on call for maintenance emergencies.

Qualifications:  Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in property maintenance.  Must have a valid Vermont driver’s license and reliable transportation.  Ability to perform physical activities associated with maintenance work is required. IT Support Technician

Summary:  The IT Support Technician will provide end-user support, routine maintenance of computers, phone and servers and infrastructure support.  Provides IT training to staff and works with supervisor on special projects as needed.

Qualifications:  Must possess a High School Diploma. RN

Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for provision and/or oversight of nursing care and clinical services for residents of Memory Care at Allen Brook (MC) and Cathedral Square Senior Living (CSSL).  S/he is responsible for ensuring the well-being of the Assisted Living (AL) and MC residents and ensures direct care services provided by AL & MC staff are of a high quality.  S/he supports a philosophy of aging in place consistent with the mission of assisted living and in compliance with the State of Vermont Level III Assisted Living/Residential Care Home regulations. The RN Supervisor will also be required to provide on-call clinical consultation.

Qualifications:  The RN must currently be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Vermont.  Must possess at least two years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably within an assisted living, residential care or similar setting committed to an aging in place philosophy.  He/she must have demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment.  He/she must have knowledge of standard record keeping procedures (i.e. progress notes, nursing notes, documentation of incidents, HIPPA guidelines).  Must possess strong organizational and time management skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Click Here for full job description.

Program Coordinator

Summary:  The Program Coordinator is responsible for enhancing resident quality of life through the development and presentation of a variety of activities for our memory care residents.  The Program Coordinator leads activities that will enhance resident’s independence, functioning, social interaction, and encourages resident participation.  The Coordinator directs and supervises resident volunteers in the provision of activities and programs developed by the Coordinator.  He/she works in partnership with the resident, their family members, and caregivers to design the activities program on a monthly basis.

Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED. Preference for minimum of an Associate’s Degree in a related field with at least two years prior experience working with elders.  Previous experience in leading activities specifically for the senior client population is preferred.  Knowledge of recreational activities is essential.  Demonstrated excellence in verbal communication is required. Must have knowledge of and an appreciation for the heritage, values, and wisdom of each resident and a commitment to the philosophy of aging in place.  Must possess a valid driver’s license and ability to drive a company van, as needed for activities. SASH Coordinator

Summary:  The primary function of the Support and Services at Home (SASH) Coordinator is to build trusting relationships with participants in SASH in order to develop a thorough knowledge of each SASH participant’s strengths and challenges as they pertain to remaining safely in his or her home.  The SASH Coordinator convenes the on-site SASH team on a regular basis to coordinate care and services to meet the needs of SASH participants.  The goal of the SASH model is to enhance the coordination of person-centered health and wellness services in order to assist residents to remain in their homes as their health and functional needs change.

Qualifications:  Must possess a Bachelors Degree in Social Work or equivalent combination of background and experience.  Previous experience coordinating services specifically for the senior or adult with disability client population is preferred.  Knowledge of area resources and programs available to seniors and adults with disabilities, including transportation, health services, and recreational activities is essential.  Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication is required. Resident Assistant

Summary:  The Resident Assistant assists residents who are functionally, physically or socially impaired and who need 24-hour oversight.  He/she is responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living (eating, transfers, toileting, bed mobility, dressing, bathing and ambulation).  He/she is also responsible for providing medication to residents and assisting the Resident Service Coordinator with conducting resident activities.

Qualifications:  Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.  LNA certification is preferred.  Prior work experience as a nursing assistant or aide to people who are elderly or disabled is preferred.  Must be able to think, act and intervene appropriately in both routine and emergency situations.  Must possess good interpersonal communication skills and be able to relate to a wide variety of people.  Must be able to communicate effectively in writing.  Must be flexible and adaptable to changes in the work environment, including scheduling changes and work assignments.  He/she will have exposure to body fluids, infection and odors and behavior of residents.  Must be able to lift/push up to 50 pounds and walk four miles daily.  Must be able to lift, carry, stand, bend, squat, crawl, reach and kneel using good body mechanics for sustained periods of time. Click Here for full job description.

Qualifications: Must possess a Vermont LPN license.  Experience in long term care setting preferred.  Able to think, act and intervene appropriately in both routine and emergency situations.  Must possess a high degree of interpersonal communication skills to relate with a wide variety of individuals.
