Resident Assistants

Are you a compassionate person with a heart for care giving? We are seeking caring, positive, reliable people to support residents who are physically and/or cognitively impaired. You’ll join a casual but professional close-knit team and work at either our downtown Burlington assisted-living residence or our specialized memory-care community in Williston. Experience working with elders preferred but not required – we provide paid training! Our Resident Assistants understand and value the need for residents maintain a high quality of life. You’ll help by providing an open ear and support with personal care and daily activities, including dressing, eating, hygiene and taking medications.

IT Support Technician

The person in this position provides end-user support; routine maintenance of computers, phones and servers; and infrastructure support. The IT Support Technician also provides IT training to staff and works with the supervisor on special projects as needed.


  • CompTIA A+ certification or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) or ability to obtain same within six months of hire or an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field or equivalent experience
  • Strong technical aptitude to troubleshoot phone and computer equipment/issues
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (2016 or Office 365, including Visio, preferred)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently

LPN Charge Nurse

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides care and services to residents who are functionally, physically or socially impaired at our assisted-living residence in downtown Burlington, under the direction of the LPN supervisor. They provide nurse duties within their scope of license, including assessment, treatment, and medication management and administration. The LPN provides on-call clinical consultation to staff as needed and supports a philosophy of aging in place consistent with the mission of Cathedral Square and in compliance with State of Vermont Level III Assisted Living/Residential Care Home regulations.


  • Current Vermont LPN license

Maintenance Technicians

Maintenance Technicians are responsible for a full range of property-maintenance duties, including painting, heating and ventilation troubleshooting and repair, responding to work orders, minor plumbing and electrical work, snow shoveling, and landscaping. Daily assignments vary depending on the site and the availability of other maintenance staff. Will have on-call duties for maintenance emergencies on a rotating basis.


  • Valid Vermont driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to perform physical activities associated with maintenance work
  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in property maintenance preferred

SASH Wellness Nurse

Wellness Nurses provide and oversee wellness care and health coaching for Support and Services at Home (SASH) participants in accordance with Vermont’s Nurse Practice Act. They oversee the well-being of participants and coordinate health services with team members and community providers, and work with participants and team members to develop individual and community healthy-living plans. They support a philosophy of aging in place consistent with the mission of SASH.


  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Vermont
  • At least two years’ experience in a clinical setting

Breakfast Cook

Working at Memory Care at Allen Brook in Williston, the cook prepares and serves meals in a friendly, professional manner to memory-care residents and ensures a clean, sanitary and orderly kitchen. Work involves all facets of kitchen operations, including ordering, receiving and inspecting/rejecting orders; cooking and serving; and cleaning and monitoring of kitchen equipment. The cook will have on-call duties to cover for the Manager of Food Service as needed. Flexibility in work schedule and weekend/holiday availability is necessary.


  • Ability to read and follow instructions, recipes and resident information, and perform basic math.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate to a wide variety of people.
  • Prior cooking experience, experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities, and high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Memory Care Community Enrichment Specialist (AmeriCorps position)

Working at Memory Care at Allen Brook in Williston, Cathedral Square’s specialized assisted-living community for Medicaid recipients with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, the Specialist enhances residents’ quality of life by developing and presenting specialized programming and activities. In addition to engaging and connecting with residents, the Specialist helps volunteers deliver programs and activities developed by the Programming Coordinator.

This position starts in March 2020 and runs through August 28, 2020. It pays a $10,800 living allowance plus an education award of $3,047.50 upon successful completion of service.

Qualifications: U.S. citizen and high school graduate; associate’s degree in related field with two years’ experience preferred.

Hours and Location: Full-time (900 hours required, which equates to 40 hours/week for 26 weeks) at Memory Care at Allen Brook, Williston.
