Photo of Bernie Sanders and Elm Place residents laughing it up.MILTON, VERMONT — Vermont Senator and former U.S. presidential candidate Bernie Sanders paid a visit to Elm Place senior housing on Tuesday, April 11, to meet with seniors and get a personal tour of Vermont’s first multifamily residence built to high-tech, “passive solar” standards. More than 20 Elm Place and community residents gathered in the spacious Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Community Room to talk about issues ranging from Medicare and the cost of prescription drugs to proposed cuts in federal housing funds.
