Fitzgerald Named One of VermontBiz's 91 Influencers
We're thrilled to announce that Cathedral Square CEO Kim Fitzgerald has been recognized as one of VermontBiz's inaugural "91 Influencers." This prestigious list honors Vermont leaders who demonstrate exceptional dedication, innovation, and impact within their fields and communities, as well as their ability to inspire and lead others.
The "91 Influencers" designation – a tribute to Vermont's admission to statehood in 1791 – celebrates leaders across diverse sectors including business, healthcare, nonprofits, technology, and public service. Vermont Business Magazine published profiles of each honoree, including their responses to key questions about their work and connection to Vermont.
Here's how Kim responded:
I've dedicated my entire professional career to affordable housing, beginning with seven years at VHFA and continuing for the past 25 years at Cathedral Square. Throughout this journey, I've been proud to represent and support low-income, older Vermonters — work that I find deeply meaningful. One of the greatest honors of my career was being selected as CEO of Cathedral Square following a nationwide search. It's a privilege to lead such a remarkable organization, alongside an incredible team committed to making a difference every day.
Something you’ve checked off your bucket list: I went skydiving in Addison with my daughter; it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience I will never forget.
First job: Turning over house rentals and keeping the books for a family on Lake George.
Hidden Talent: I always strive to see things from every perspective in a situation. This approach not only helps me make more informed decisions, but in times of conflict, it allows me to find workable compromises that benefit everyone involved.
Kim's leadership has been instrumental in expanding Cathedral Square's reach across Vermont, advancing innovative programs like SASH®, and advocating tirelessly for policies that support affordable housing and dignified care for older adults. This recognition reflects not only Kim's vision and dedication, but the collective efforts of our entire Cathedral Square team.
