Kason Hudman Joins Cathedral Square's Board of Directors

SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT — Cathedral Square, a leading nonprofit committed to addressing the critical need for affordable housing for older adults and people with diverse needs in Vermont, has appointed Kason Hudman, Director of Operations at the Peace & Justice Center, to its Board of Directors.
Hudman grew up in Utah and came to Vermont in 2017 to pursue graduate study in U.S. History at the University of Vermont, earning his master’s degree in 2019. He has spent much of his adult life organizing around LGBT+ rights, racial justice, and interfaith understanding, work he carried with him from Utah to Vermont and has continued in his current role at the Peace & Justice Center.
“Our mission depends on staying close to the communities we create, and Kason has spent his career doing exactly that kind of listening and organizing,” said Cathedral Square CEO Kim Fitzgerald. “His perspective on equity and inclusion will strengthen how we serve residents across all of our communities.”
For Hudman, the appointment is a chance to extend work he already cares about into a new setting. “Housing is where so many other issues of justice and dignity come together,” he said. “I’m glad to bring what I’ve learned from organizing work to a board that takes that connection seriously.”
